Using found, worn billboard posters these collage diptyques were layered gradually until the composition appeared. This technique of sticking rather than ripping is in direct contrast to the way the posters were aged in public. The title is taken from a poem quoted by F.Scott Fitzgerald at the start of The Great Gatsby, a book which deals with the subject of the American dream, something I feel is directly related to our obsession with consumerism. This work examines these links and our efforts to always update.
